Case Study: Greater Cincinnati Water Works

The Cincinnati Water Works water treatment facility needed to remove the filter media from 35 filters.

Project Overview:

The Cincinnati Water Works water treatment facility needed to remove all the filter media from 35 filters.

Project Challenge:

One of the unique challenges of this job, as would be expected of any municipal water treatment facility, was that the filters (all 35 of them) needed to be replaced while the plant was still operating, and it had to be done within a fixed firm deadline. Furthermore, the filters were located deep in the interior of the building through hallways that had been freshly painted (including the floors), making the need for very careful equipment placement and usage critical.

RK Process:

To meet completion date requirements, RK assigned two vacuum trucks to this project. The depth of the building required over 1000’ of vacuum line, which was placed on a floor protection system that was created on the spot, protecting the facility and ultimately allowing for a clean and thorough job.

End Result:

Due to RK’s large fleet, extensive water treatment plant experience, and the specialized, knowledgeable, and creative crew members, the project was successfully completed within 1 month.
